NFTs on Bitcoin: OCM Dimensions, the new 3D collection of generative art
OnChainMonkey (OCM) announced the launch of its upcoming generative art NFT collection on Bitcoin: OCM Dimensions.
Basically, OCM Dimensions wants to show an innovative way to inscribe high-quality art on Bitcoin using limited block space, a challenge others have not overcome.
The artwork was created entirely in code, offering a view into each satoshi with detailed renderings of light, movement and vibration.
OCM Dimensions is one of the first collections of 3D NFTs on Bitcoin and aims to demonstrate that these immersive pieces can be issued in an efficient way, without affecting the performance of the Bitcoin Blockchain.
NFTs on Bitcoin: OCM Dimensions was created in collaboration with Metagood
Behind the new OCM collection, there is a world-class art and engineering team, Metagood. In this regard, Danny Yang, co-founder and CEO of Metagood, said:
“Metagood’s vision for the OnChainMonkey community and the entire OCM project is to create a prosperous global nation that prioritizes financial enrichment, physical health, social connection, and purposeful impact.
Our latest collection offers community members the opportunity to become early adopters of not only historic, high-quality Bitcoin NFTs, but also the most efficiently inscribed Bitcoin NFTs available today.”
These NFTs were designed specifically for Bitcoin, as they are inscribed on satoshis from January 2009 (the month Bitcoin was launched). Using the Ordinals protocol, both Bitcoin miners and users will not be affected by the launch.
The first 300 OCM Dimensions will be minted directly on Bitcoin, then the remaining collection (up to 2,000 NFTs) will be minted on Bitcoin via burnable Ethereum NFTs that the first collection of OCM Genesis NFTs can consume over time to generate their respective OCM Dimensions on Bitcoin.
Over 12 million Ordinals inscribed
According to data from Dune Analytics, at the time of writing, the total number of Bitcoin Ordinals NFT inscriptions have exceeded 12 million.
This is a total growth curve that has quadrupled in just one month, whereas the number of daily inscriptions seems to be settling, compared to what happened in early May 2023.
And indeed, in this month, the number of Bitcoin Ordinals NFT daily inscriptions range from 60,000 to 150,000.
Nothing like the inscriptions seen in the previous month, with 1 May recording as many as 372,000 inscriptions in just 24 hours. The all-time high in daily inscriptions occurred on 7 May, with as many as 400,091.
Returning to today, when looking at the graph regarding the type of Ordinals, text-based inscriptions continue to be in first place with 90%, followed by images in all their forms.
